pastu saye pegi makan buah (opis saye tiap2 hari bekerja around 10.30pm ader buah)

pastu saye pg turun ke parking mgmt office utk mintak season parking. dah dua minggu kot husband soh pegi tanye. ader stock tp saye takde cash la plak, so dtg balik esok. ohh…saye tak based in KLCC, parking kt building saye keje nie slalunye available. Kalau waiting list pon ader harapan. KLCC parking kalau saye letak nama skrang, saye pencen blom tentu lg dapat season parking kot (rumor has it that KLCC Parking mgmt tak bagi letak name kat waiting list pon sbb dah panjang sgt kot)

in between all these, saya balas e-mail and hantar e-mail ape2 yg patut. Tak baek buat org tertunggu2 :) hehe~

Over Congested

Semalam, of all days, husband and I terkandas di dalam heavy traffic yg ditunjukkan dlm gambar di atas tuh. Dah ler maseh mood raye lagi, lagi mau jam plak. Kalau familiar ngn area nie, this is jalan dr Taman Connaught masuk into Federal Highway, lalu depan Mid Valley sme. Toll tu ialah toll RM 0.50.

Usually, husband and I lalu jalan cheras and then straight to Jalan Loke Yew to get to work. Skali smalam tgk kt depan Plaza Phoenix tu pon dah jam dasat, so we decided nak lalu SMART la. So, exit dari jalan cheras tu pg lalu kt taman connaught. At least mase kami lalu, takde la jam sampai kt toll neh. We were stucked I think about 2 or 3 km ahead after the toll for around 45 minutes. It was around 7.30 a.m at that time.

Dalam masa 45 mins tu, ader la bergerak like 2 km kot. Ini tak bley jadi. The first exit we saw were the exit pegi Toll Sungai Besi. Tak kesah la, patah balik pon, patah balik la. Kami masuk Highway Sg Besi itu and then masuk ke jalan yg lalu depan Kompleks Sukan Bukit Jalil (x tau nama highway die ape) and then masuk MEX (Maju Expressway, previously known as KLP – Kuala Lumpur Putrajaya Highway).

Sampai ofis pkol 9.00 am. Duh~ Cerita orang keje kat KL.

p/s: nie yg buat aku rase cam nak keje kt Kerteh. Mase stuck dlm jam nie smalam, aku sempat cakap kt husband, “jom pindah Melaka”. Pastu aku cakap plak, “kite EL je la hari nie”. Hahaha~

Tak Menang Tangan…

According to pengiraan aku, this is week no 6 yg aku busy teramat la sgt.

Especially bulan ramadhan nie sbb kadang2 dpt invitation berbuka. Walaupon keje 8am – 4pm ader hari2 yg aku tak bergerak dr workstation pon. Pastu fulfill la plak invitation2. Ader yg gathering ngn geng2 so ok la. Ader yg makan free so haruslah tannak tolak. Tp pastu sampei umah lambat.

Smalam n hari neh kepala aku pening giler pasal x cukup zzzz. Sampai ofis keje melambak (kalo x, bley la catch up on sleep jugak kan?)

Minggu nie everyday ader meeting. Meeting2 nie plak bukan jenis yg aku bley dok dgr buat tak tau (and terdoze off) je, nie aku kna join berpk bersama2, ader yg aku kna present, ader yg aku kna chair, ader yg pastu aku kna review action. Arrgghhh! Ader plak satu team nie nak review their work ngn aku + senior, buat meeting pkol 2-4pm. Hari tu derang tanye aku, aku suggest Rabu pagi. Skali hari nie la plak, ptg plak tu. Sengal.

Pastu tetibe plak hari isnin, aku kna buat 2 reports. Kna siap before aku pg bercuti. Satu report tu mmg salah aku la, patutnye start buat last week, tp aku totally lupe sbb mmg packed giler lately. Satu lagi tetibe boss aku anta e-mail ckp, nad to do. Owwhhh. Takpe2, satu report dah siap smalam. Satu lg draft dah totally siap, aku tgh arrange and refine bg beautiful.

Ohhh…senior aku dah dtg la plak, baru nak lari pg zzz.

Nak sedapkan hati sendiri dikala busy dan agak tertekan aku ckp lah aku nie high in demand. Tp kalau camni gayanye, x high in demand pon xpe.

Bye –Bye Dato’ CT

  

Our dearest Bokor DCC, Siti, said goodbye to our project on Bokor. Bukan sebarang Siti oke, she is Dato’ CT to us. Even though she is with the project for x sampei setahun, I believe true friends are made in no time. Die adalah sgt klaka, sgt helpful dan juga mempunyai byk opinion if you need any views on anything. Walaupon kadang2 jiwanye bergelora (hoho…jgn mare ye Dato’), kat luar sentiasa aje senyum walaupon keje melambak2.

So hari selasa hari tu, kami held a farewell makan2 for her. Sbb tgh hari on the same day ader makan free (due to monthly meeting, after every monthly meeting lunch free), kitorg decided utk buat farewell makan2 waktu breakfast (dlm pkol 9 am).

We had a great time but a lil bit sedey sbb CT chose to go. Dah la girls kat cni sket, ko plak lagi mengurangkan populasi kitorg. Hehe~

Anyway, best wishes in your every future undertakings and berbahagia la selalu. Seperti kate ko, this is a small industry, satu hari nnti mesti kite jumpe lagi. Padahal dah tau kau dok kt ne, singgah je la kan? Hehe~

Getting to and out of KL by train

I have to attend a supplementary course as planned out in my Individual Coaching Plan (ICP) so that I can close the gaps identified in my Accelerated Capability Development (ACD) gap assessment. This training is to be held at Legend Hotel KL. I was googling for this hotel, and then I realized, hey! actually I’ve been there for a training back in 2007 (I think). This hotel is near The Mall and if you are taking the train, you can get on the star lrt line to get there.

Actually, this entry is really not about my training, rather it is about the train system around KL. To me, this system is a very-confusing-tangled-up-bunch-of-railways. Especially to those using it for the first time. The different names are already a messing-up-my-brain bunch of names. In KL, we have LRT (putra and star, star splits into two lines), monorail, komuter (komuter has 2 different service lines) and ERL (Err…I didn’t miss anything right?). If you asked me (obviously nobody asked me but I want to give my 2 cents anyway, or 3 or 4 cents at that), these different names are really unnecessary.

Obviously, these names are to mark the different operators and the different lines of service. But to a layman like me, errrr I couldn’t care less!! Why can’t there be only one company who takes care of the customer services for these train operators, so the customers like us don’t have to watch out for different customer care line for each operators? Hahaha~ I am lazy, I know that and this is not a strong argument. If this is to be done, then I bet the main issue will be “Who’s gonna pay this customer services company” then somebody will say “let’s split evenly between all train operators” then someone will remarks “Errkk…but we are not the biggest operator. we have to split according to the company’s size” the another someone will respond “no…no..no…we have to split according to the largest usage per day” “no…no…no by track length” blah…blah…yada…yada… waste of time.

The different names though is another thing. I do wish that we have simple name like Seremban Line, KLIA Line, Ampang Line and drop the monorail, putra, star and the rest. Simply because I don’t want to know. Maybe the whole lot can be call KL train system (or something else) – Ampang Line. Simple. (to me)

However, if you are prepared beforehand, it is really not that hard. The info are all over the internet including the maps for these train, its station and interchange stations. I get the map below from this web site and I’ve been using it for a few times mainly to find out where I have to stop in order to change to another train service / line.

Hope that this map can help someone to survive the madness of KL train jungle. :)

p/s: I’ve checked that this map is not copyrighted. However, if this is not the case, please do contact me and I’ll be glad to remove this map from my blog. I’ll then draw my own map on the KL train system and get it copyrighted. hoho~

Karnival Keluarga PETRONAS 2009 (KKP 2009)

Smalam, nearly the whole day, my husband and I were at PERMATA in Bangi. Why? For the KKP 2009!! KKP nie is held every year. Die bermula dengan acara2 sukan such as Badminton, Chess, Golf, Futsal, Netball dan berbagai2 lagi yg diadakan among the various business units in PETRONAS. For this year, EXPRO is the winner for KKP!!! I belong to this business unit la. So bley la kata camni, Yeay!! Team aku menang!! (padahal x main ape2 pon. hari tu ingat nak try out for badminton, skali terlambat bgn la plak…hehe~ cakap aje x guna kan?? hoho~)

That morning, around 9.00 am lagi kitorg dah ader kat PERMATA. The event yang I was very keen to tengok ialah KKP Superstar, dimana two of my friends were among the five finalists.

 

Kawan2 aku tu ialah yg pakai baju ala2 punjabi ngn selendang tuh, EE dan the only girl in the top 5, Jieha. They finished at second and third place respectively. Dua2 mmg suara sgt bess and kalau nyanyi lagu ape2 pon mmg jadi lagu derang sendiri la. Seb baik they make it to the Top 5, sbb I missed the last 2 concerts and kalau derang terkeluar mase tu, sedey la sket. Hehe~ EE gediks hari tu tak confident nak masuk Superstar, skali dapat second place. :)

Banyak jugak other things kat PERMATA yesterday. Ader street soccer, arts booths (sand arts, face painting, etc. etc), Paintball, pastu bola besar that you can masuk inside and pusing2 (x tau nama sebenarnye), FOOD!! (of course!) and berbagai2 lagi la acara for the family. Tp the thing in the picture kat bawah nie mmg get my attention la.

HOT AIR BALLOON!!! Aku sangat kagum because it is SOOO BIG!! Macam budak kecik je kan? I was not really interested nak naik, just that sgt ske tgk sbb this thing is like sooo overwhelming and out of this world. Mase kitorg blah dari PERMATA around 12.00 pm tu dah xde dah mende nie, so kejap je derang pasang.

After that kitorg pg menguruskan hal2 umah sewa SIL (sister in law) kat Seri Kembangan cause ader new tenant nak masuk. Aku mmg ske pegi usha2 umah nie, so I took a look at the apartment. Die nye living room is kinda small, tp sbb die xde partition between living room, dining area and kitchen so that makes these three area looks ok la. Takde la sempit sgt. Tp the three rooms are huge utk standard apartment. Yang menyedihkan sket ialah, kat living room and dining room ialah lantai marble ok!! (which is so fab!!) tp sbb umah sewa kan, tenant mana kesah marble ke, cement ke, so cam dah rosak sket la marble flooring tuh. (ohhh…terpanjang la plak perenggan selingan nie)

Actually nak cakap that kitorg sampai rumah around 3.00 pm and malam tu kitorg pegi PERMATA balik for the GRAND FINALE!! You have to pay RM10 for the ticket that has to be bought beforehand sbb die tak jual mase the event. Once inside, ada booths food yang sgt banyak yg provide FREE FLOW OF FOOD. Ader segala bagai nasi goreng, nasi lemak, air tebu, keropok lekor, tortilla and macam2 lagi la. Yang pentingnye FREE FLOW oke!! Durian pon ader tp durian cam special sket la sbb kan beli kupon dulu. Aku pon x minat durian so I’m good.

Masa kitorg sampai, it was a lil bit past 8.00 pm and sudah sgt ramai org. So aku n husband redah segala bagai manusia tu, and bentangkan tikar kitorg like sgt dekat to the stage sbb kitorg datang was not for the food, but the performance. Husband for Shila OIAM and aku for Faizal Tahir (yg dari OIAM jugak la sebenarnye).

GRAND FINALE malam tu was hosted by Zizan and Johan, which makes it sgt2 lah hilarious. Kalau tak knal derang nie, nie la mereka yg sgt spontaneous and berbakat dlm membuat lawak.

 

Kitorg sat together with Mai n her husband. And because kitorg nie sgt lah dekat ngn stage, Jozan berdua nie pon turun dari stage datang kat tmpt kitorg n buat2 lawak pasal kitorg nie dok berkelah tepi pantai la and derang adalah free willy. Sengal! Aku tergamam sekejap masa tu. Hoho~

Pastu start la performance. Before artist2 jemputan kluar ader show dari KKP Superstar Winner and Runner Up (Kawan ku si EE tu) and then ader performance dr PPAG. Nampak la mak andeh and pak pandir yg hari tu mase musical jadi org kampung dulu2 skrang dah jadi org dari 60’s dok nyanyi lagu Pesta Muda Mudi tuh. (Ohhh…nak buat entri pasal Musical Pak Pandir la plak pasneh).

Pastu artist jemputan pon kluar la. Firstly, Shila duet ngn adik die. Then Shila nyanyi solo aje. Tannak letak gambar Shila sbb aku x minat sgt. Hahaha~ Then Faizal Tahir plak!! Yeay!! Exciter terlebey oke! Sgt ske lagu die and suara die. He performed 5 songs; Mahakarya Cinta, Cuba, Gemuruh (duet ngn si Jozan), Sampai Syurga and Bencinta. Sme aku record except Bencinta sbb aku x ske lagu tuh. Mmg ramai giler org datang depan stage masa Faizal Tahir perform sbb rupe2nye die nie klaka la jugak. So, enjoy la.

 

This is how close we were to the stage. Happening giler!! And after that ader Ramli Sarip and he performed with my unimate Aziah, sebagai wakil dari PETRONAS la. But aku x masuk sgt la ngn bunyi2 gitar electric yg over. Dengar mmg cam bess tp sakit telinga. Aku lagi ske Faizal Tahir. Pastu last2 ader closing ceremony and smenye berakhir and show bunga api yg sgt cantik!!! Aku x amik gambar / video bunga api tu sbb sgt leka mendongak and tengok bunga api.

So, that was how i spend my day yesterday. Hari nie apart from Fira datang umah, pegi jogging ptg nie (seresly rase fat n tak fit) and buat cross stich, xde la ape2 activity hari nie other than melepak. Kate weekend. :)

Up and Down and Again

I took this video in my room on the work barge while I was offshore doing some installation work earlier this year.

I'm sorry if I dissapoint you but this is not a scary video about a haunted room, where the ghost is super annoying and move your empty mineral water bottle around the room in bright light. At least wait la until it's dark kalau nak move things around pon right? Hehe~

You won't jump out of your seat by watching this video because there will be no random-screaming-creepy-looking-creature at the end of an almost silent and calming video.

The empty bottle moved because the barge was swayed by big waves. I just wanted to remember how bad it was on the barge. I have some more videos, but i don't know if you can rotate a video because if I upload those other video you will have to view it sideways.

Busy Bee

Hari nie entry ialah dalam bahasa ibunda (maybe campur aduk buat cam rojak mee sket, sbb that is naturally me).

Minggu ini ialah sangat busy for me and husband. Walaupon nie baru hari isnin, dah bley anticipate kesibukkannye especially biler memandangkan yg jumaat nie and jumaat depan adalah public holiday. Meaning, for this week and next week, which jumlah harinye ialah 14 hari, hari bekerja hanyalah 8 hari sahaja.

Dan aku ialah tidak sabar utk mengpublishkan entry yg telah dibulatkan in red dibawah, tetapi that specific entry masih dlm draft lagi kerana sgt byk yg ingin diperkatakan dalam entry tersebut dan aku sedang mencuba utk meet husband nye writing standard. Sbb tak sabar and excited sgt itulah, kna promote dulu entry nie to make sure that aku siapkan entry nie.

Berbalik kepada kesibukan minggu neh, setiap kali biler keje agak tough and demanding sket aku slalu ingat kat movie "The devil wears Prada" biler 1st assistant devil tu cakap "I love my job, I love my job". Tp masalahnye aku mmg love my job. So biler the going gets tough, aku ialah mmg nak the going gets tough. Kalau tak apeka keje aku bosan.

Kesimpulannye, kalau buat keje yang kite ske, datanglah segala badai ribut taufan hujan petir, still keje kite lah paling bess dan kite still akan do our best to see it completes. Kalau keje kite adalah something yg kite benci, bg lah RM sejuta pon, sampai bebiler aku tannak buat (aku ialah tidak berapa money driven).

p/s: Walaupon bz, tag sempat buat kot. So kazen mazen ku ina (aku x de nickname baru utk kau lg), nnti aku buat tag ko. To kazen mazen nuha, jikalau click gambar diatas, internet explorer yg paling kanan itu ialah your blog. Haha~ baca kat ofis sbg selingan kerja tau!! Kepada colleague2 ku, i hope you love your job and love working with the company. Of A Tree

I like to doodle, especially in long boring meeting (or during my days as a student, during boring classes). This little masterpiece was created in a meeting sometimes end of 2008. That page is still in my organizer, that's why i can still remember. There's a date at the top right hand side of the page, but I dont think that's the date I created this. This is 'Of A Tree'.

Ohhh...I'm waiting for husband to be done with work already!!! Not that I mind him working late, anyway. I dont mind waiting for him either because while waiting for him I can work, shop and today I work a little and then I blog!!

It's 6 p.m. I love the office at times like this (other times like this include lunch hour on friday). A proof that an office can actually be a peaceful place to be (erk...because everybody else went home already!!)

Husband told me he'll call when he's done. I'm done with this entry so I think I'll continue with my work. But, I've met my KPI for today so I think I'll start with the stuff I planned to do tomorrow. Let us all be one hell of a fab employee :)

Offshore Ep 1 - Pre-Offshore

This is Miri. A day before I was scheduled to go offshore. Hujan aje all day.

Jauh nun disana adalah offshore, tempat yang dituju. Hmm...at this time, seems like this is not a good / nice place to go to...

I'm leading an installation works offshore Miri (at Bokor Field) and planned to mobilize this Saturday (17 Jan 2009). It seems that my plan is going bust due to things I cant control. There are things in life that are beyond our control & sometimes imagination even, but these things used to be able to be predicted. But not anymore.

The weather is so bad offshore Miri that all offshore works at Bokor Field are currently on hold. Wave height is predicted between 4.5m - 5.5m, classified as dangerous for oil platform activities. Even in the news, we can see that it has been raining heavily & floods all over Sarawak and Sabah.

Hmmm...unpredicted weather. I'm rephrasing that, unpredicted bad weather. Global warming perhaps?

I hate making phone calls. Official phone calls, phone calls to family member i'm not close with, phone calls to landlords in search of my future apartment. Hmm...

I postponed a work related phone call that i was supposed to make yesterday to this morning for reasons that even i am not sure why. After an e-mail from my boss asking for updates, with a heavy heart i made that call.

Blah...blah...blah...In just over 2 minutes the call was over and we get the kickstart of a discussion. And suddenly i am enthusiastic to do the job again. I met people, discuss and get profiles to do a preliminary analysis to generate Facilities Options Case 1.04 for Bokor Phase 3 Optimized EOR Scheme.

I'm still pretty much alive n kickin after that call. So what's with the initial hesitation to make that call? Lack of confidence? Or i'm just not in the mood? Hmm...

My Office on the Move

copying stuff..

Our project team is moving into another building that is about 5-mins-walk+1-lrt-station+10-mins-walk away from our current place. This will be my second office move, first one when i was assigned to this project and i moved from KLCC to Empire Tower. That was a breeze because i baru je kerja for about 2 months at that time. Not so much clutter and baggage (and with that comes responsibility) to carry. Tp skrang is a different story. After working in the project for over a year, moving from Empire Tower to Rohas Perkasa takes some planning.



My packing planning and implementation started only this Monday (25 August 2008). Here are some what-you-should-do-before-you-move things I have picked up:

1. Pack your stuff into boxes - some people dump, i organize my stuff into four boxes (project documents in files, project documents loose, drawings, personal & active items)
   - i do this so that when i unpack, i dont have to geladah through all the four boxes to find stuff, especially the active files. Take note that even though i'm moving, work goes on as usual. Hey, this is business!!


2. Take down ur pictures!!! - and wuteva else u stick on ur walls, CPU, monitor frame and etc. (i love sticking stuff onto surfaces, it's like a huge collage and very expressive of oneself)


3. Copy the stuff in ur PC - the obvious is the stuff in my documents. Dont forget about the less obvious ones tho, like on your desktop or in your server (coz u thought nanti-nantilah baru copy, last2 luper). And dont forget to delete them from ur PC especially highly confidential stuff and very scandalous personal pictures for example. Hehe~


4. The lil things that make you, you - your mug in the pantry, ur shoes (always have at least 3 pairs at the office, plus a fair of comfy slippers), jacket/sweater/selimut/bantal/comforter and other things la..


5. Important Note: DONT FORGET ABOUT THE CURRENT ASSIGNMENTS THAT YOU ARE DOING. ye la. mana la tau, cbok2 buat keje tersave la plak kat PC kat office lama. haha~ pastu pindah office. Pastu next week kalut2 carik x jumpe. haha :) mana nak jumpe save kat tempat lain, carik kat tempat lain.. hoho


6. Anything Else??

Today is my final day here. Tomorrow the movers will angkat all the stuff. I do hope that i dont forget anything..
